I don't usually write about such...indecent conduct, glib rationalizations and in-your-face shamelessness.... This illustrates what normal Americans hate...: narcissism, moral bankruptcy and self-congratulatory media-political incest.... [R]ecent profiles and features of social conservatives drip with condescension and ridicule. Religious activists are portrayed as intolerant homophobes; Republicans as gun-toting rubes; abstinence promoters as freaks. The People's Republic of Seabrook has long been a favorite of mine, especially for its quirky take on news and politics. Even if you can't agree with Jack Cluth's politics (and I generally do), you have to love his frequent Dumb@$$ Awards. Hmmm, maybe I'm not so happy after all. Jack appears to have taken over my computer: Every time I type Dumb@$$ the computer insists on inserting a "mailto" link. Bad Jack!

Recently, he even got a mention in the Washington Post as a warblogger. It'll be interesting to see him claw his way up from the bowels of obscurity to the limelight of success. Who knows, he might just turn out to be the Liberal version of Glenn Reynolds. Hell, he's already got my vote for the Liberal Rush Limbaugh that the Democrats are looking for.

Not only is Jack a great guy with a fantastic sense of humor, wonderful writing skills and the brains to go with them, but he is living proof that people can be on opposite sides of the spectrum politically and still respect each other's views and be friends. Jack knows how to make his point using humor and not using insults, and gets mad props from me for that, and many other things.
